Black Mountain Farmers' Market
Every Saturday, Black Mountain had a wonderful farmers' market. They sell everything from locally-grown produce, to breads, to pies, to ceramics and soaps. They have music and all kinds of activities. The last one is at the end of October, and I believe they resume again in May.
A hayride for kids!
The surrounding area in Black Mountain (very pretty town!)
The quaint downtown area (it's only a couple blocks long)
When you visit Black Mountain, be sure to stop in at Mountain Spirit Cards and Gifts (118 Cherry Street - right in the center of town) and meet the delightful owner -- she will inspire you!! The shop has an eclectic selection of cards and gifts, all with a story about the different artists who created them. It's wonderful little shop!

Herd of Elk
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
A cute baby doing Yoga (Downward Facing Dog)
Namaste
He was hollering about something!
As are animals I've seen in other National Parks, it appears these elk are randomly tagged. Believe me, I wouldn't have wanted to be the one who had to hold this big fella down and clamp the tag in his ear!
