Greenhouse (at the NC Aboretum)

In the greenhouse at the North Carolina Aboretum, plants are produced for many areas of the Arboretum, including the Quilt Garden, Container Gardens, Seasonal Landscape Exhibits and sustainable landscape areas. The greenhouse also houses the tropical bonsai.  You can either drive to the greenhouse, or take a beautiful hike through the woods (it's a little more than half a mile) to the 7200 square foot glass greenhouse.

Outside of the greenhouse

The grounds around the greenhouse are spectacular!

Some little succulents (I'm sure that's not their official name)

These plants were growing inside pots outside the main building.

Pomegranate

A HUGE rosemary tree

Staghorn fern
(I have ones bigger than this in my backyard!)

This is the easy hike through the woods to get to the greenhouse

Obviously, I like taking pictures of leaves!

Then back to the main area  of the Aboretum for
lunch at the Savory Thyme Cafe!
